Hertog Jan is a brand for beer lovers with an appreciation of natural, tasteful beer. This is a fruity aromatic bottom-fermented pils characterised by a golden color, full body and pleasantly bitter aftertaste. It should be served at 4 to 6C (39 to 43F).

Bottle 30cl. @ home.
Clear light to medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, sugar, light light notes of smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, and a dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft, finsh feel is metalic. [20081119]

50 cL can. Pours clear and golden yellow with a slowly collapsing white head. Dry cornish and acidic aroma. Mild sweet malty flavoured with a distinct bitterness coming through. Bitter and cornish finish.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is yeasty and slightly cherry fruity. The flavour is gently yeasty and gently dry. Overall an average dry and yeasty beer.

On Tap. Pours a clear golden colour with a small size head and good carbonation. Smell is very pleasant, great hops and malts there, with good bitterness. I think the taste is a bit too much of the previous, as it’s a nice beer, but not something to really enjoy.

cellary aroma, flavor is quite macro average, but to the sweet side. corns, sugar. overall a nice macro but not *that* outstanding.

Best Dutch pilsener period. Well balance flavours, smooth aroma yet not as shallow as most Dutch pilseners.

Clear golden with medium white head. Sweet malty aroma with mild caramel notes. Sweet fruity flavor with caramel and malty notes. Could be worse.

Bottled(300ml). -on some road restaurant near Amsterdam as Hertog Jan Natuurzuiver Bier.
Malty, pleasant hoppy and moderate bitter taste with grainy and faint fruity notes. Finish is short and a bit too sweet. Simple and easy drinkable pils.

Boring, dry, light lager. Seek out the Grand Prestige or the Priminator. This one does nothing for me.

One of my favourite Dutch pilseners. Golden colour, foamy head. Aroma of malts and hops. Taste is sweet, malty ending in a nice soft bitter finish. A bit fruity. Very soft and smooth pilsener.
