Hertog Jan is a brand for beer lovers with an appreciation of natural, tasteful beer. This is a fruity aromatic bottom-fermented pils characterised by a golden color, full body and pleasantly bitter aftertaste. It should be served at 4 to 6C (39 to 43F).

Pours nice clear golden color with strong white foam. Aroma of hops, has bit of thet bitter aroma and hint of malt. Taste is very light and malty, no aftertaste, very easy going. Overall very average beer.

Aroma:
Slight aroma of malts, caramel, corn syrup and hops.

Appearance:
Clear golden/amber beer with a slight/medium white head.

Taste/Palate:
Medium sweet with malts, caramel and corn syrup; ends slightly dry with hops.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Just a basic and cheap pilsener, but manages to be okay despite this. One of the best supermarket Pilseners from Holland, if that says anything.

Matig pils. Weinig smaak. De naam/hype maakte het produkt. Smaakte als een slechte Dommelsch.

Used to be one of the more interesting Dutch pilseners. Not enough carbonation, diminishes easily. copper, bread, Somewhat remember it to be better long ago.

Drank this while eating at a restaurant. Clear golden colour with whitehead that diminishes at an avarage tempo. The pilsener tastes sweet. I spot tastes of hop, yeast and wheat

Beer of the evening at the party where I was. Fine as an accompanist at the bbq and other snacks. For the rest a Lager that is reasonable in taste.
