Bottle at home. Pale pilsener, bit sweet, strong. Okay. Not my favorite of the Hertogs. MiP (15943) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 10, 2006
Bottle. BB April 05, 1 year ago. Grainy aroma, and honey? Dark golden colour, semi-stable, rocky white head. Peppery flavour with a slight sweetness. Rather standard, but not bad export. Quinten (1062) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 24, 2005
Nice fully pilsener of 100% fully natural ingredients.
Grainy taste withe a gentle bitter aftertaste.
Now it is time to test wat the conclusion is after a whole evening trinking this beer JanPrimus1982 (48) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2005
Had expected much more of this Primator, thought it was a complexer beer than the ordinary Hertog Jan Pilsener, but this beer is a bit dissappointing Otje (678) - Veendam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 1, 2005
strong lager, more like an european strong lager than a pilsner. pours golden, almost no head. aromas of hop and a bit skunky. taste: sweetish, malty and...paint remover! finishes fruity(banana) and malty. not so good, just drinkable.

(Bottle 30 cl) An "Extra Pilsener"? - whatever that is.... Well, in this case it seems to be a stronger pilsener with more and darker malts used. The beer pours fully golden with a handsome, creamy head. Pronounced bitterness, but it’s the nice, malty body that’s the main feature here. 170804 TBone (17786) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 25, 2005
Bottled (BB 09/2005)dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JUL 20, 2005
Golden honey color, not much head. Metallic and sweetish aroma. Sweetish malty. Medium-bodied. Only faint hops in the finish though label says "extra pilsener". This is more like European strong lager.
Bottled. Wow, I´m suprised at the high ratings this thing gets. To me this is nothing more than a glorified pale lager with a high sweetness, a bad herbal aroma and almost no bitterness in the finish. Bad, and has nothing to do with a pilsner. HermanW (1069) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2005
A dark pilsener and a bit more spicy than a usual pilsener.................. JorisPPattyn (10061) - BELGIUM - JAN 23, 2005
Disparate transparant head, fed by big bubbles, in dark golden beer. Grainy nose, chaff, hay, vaguely grassy and honey. Again a tad honeyish - definitely mainly sweet malts in the taste, hints of mint and retronasal alcohol. Light but not watery, mineral water with a body if you can imagine. Just a tiniest hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent pilsener, easily drinkable with some enjoyable notes.
