Ungstrup (38238) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2004
An orange beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is very hoppy with notes of grass. The flavor is dominated by hops, but also with notes of malt and fruits especially apples before a dry hoppy end sets in. The body is thin - especially considering the 6% ABV.

madsberg (11774) - Søborg, DENMARK - APR 20, 2004
Bottled: Light yellow coloured. White head. Hops, fruit, malts and sweetness in the aroma. Sweet notes in the flavour. Light malty and hoppy. Has a nice balanced bitterness in the end.

Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - APR 19, 2004
A smooth pilsener. Some malts and some hops in the aroma. Mild and light flavour. Quite bland.

Kåstå (1273) - Mol, BELGIUM - JAN 5, 2004
Dark blond beer with a ery small head. Hop aroma. Light sweet caramelly taste with a more hoppy finish. Still almost no bitterness. Not a very interesting beer.

Diqqiediq (17) - Meerkerk, NETHERLANDS - FEB 15, 2003
Hertog Jan Primator is a good beer to drink, but i've had better ones. All together Hertog Jan can brew beers like the best :D

bierkoning (13596) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - SEP 12, 2002
Grassy, slightly malty aroma. Sweetish, malty taste with pear and orange. Some hopbitterness. Unconvincing and a bit sticky.

skortila (5966) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 3, 2002
Quite bitter, not much ofa head, bitter/hoppy aftertaste. Nice..............

Ewald99 (10) - Almere, NETHERLANDS - JAN 16, 2002
A stronger version of the standard Hertog Jan. Good!........................

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2008 Bottled. Clear golden coloured, small rapidly diminishing head, thin lacing. Malty nose, some caramel, hints of apple. Malty flavour, alcohol quite apparent, which is surprising at only 6%. Bitterness in finish. I like pilseners, and especially these so-called ’extra-pilseners’, to be hoppy, thirst quenching and by no means alcoholic. This beer doesn’t meet any of these demands. In my opinion the least succesful brew of this otherwise pretty fine brewery.

jbrus (4989) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - OCT 2, 2001
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2007 Bottled. Very floral and perfume aroma. Not bad actually. Dark yellow color, white firm head, good lace. Maltsweet, light bitter, pretty neutral overall. Strange how they lost the floral/perfume in the flavor. Medium body. Not bad for a pilsener.
