Cask at Old Friends, Ulverston. Golden, heading to copper. Medium-sized white head. Malt, butterscotch aroma, some astringency. Not terribly engaging. Taste is better: some orangey sour adds complexity to the bittersweet character. Medium dry finish. Interesting. RichardW (1813) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2013
Cask, Beehive Carlisle. Sweet, fruity aroma and flavour. A good body, with a bittersweet finish and tang. Not had this for years & I think it’s vastly improved charule (2268) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 1, 2013

Bottled. Goldeny amber colour with a small white, but longlasting head. Aroma is fruits, some mild bready and biscuity maltiness along with a bit berryish notes. Flavour is sweet and crispy malts, with some floral and berryish notes kicking in. Mellow. niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2013
On cask at The Wheatsheaf Inn, Wetheral, Cumbria. Looked OK, ruby brown with off white head. Tasted like malt vinegar with a beery appearance. Probably the worst beer I’ve ever tried. Must have been gone.

Bottled. Golden and very clear appearance, but minimal white head. Aroma with elements of hay, grass, peach (and banana). Heavy sweet, lightly bitter, with a light bitter aftertaste maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - APR 3, 2011
Bottled. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head. A nice smoky, malty aroma. Sweet ish in the mouth with good fruits and a nice malty body. Really easy to drink and far better and more enjoyable than the sum of its parts which is a real skill. imawayforapint (17) - , Alberta, CANADA - AUG 9, 2008
Good session bitter. Blew most of my Summer earnings at the brewery tap drinking Doris’ health when doing fieldwork for uni there. leftarmover (8) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 7, 2008 does not count
Many pints at the Brewery Tap itself in Hesket Newmarket. A fine session bitter. Fairly well balanced malt in the mouth and hops leading through to a dry fruit finish. Goes particularly well with the Rogan Josh served in the Crown Inn. RoyceH (1199) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - NOV 20, 2007
Cask, Alloa Beer Festival. Clear gold chestnut, thin white head. Peachy fruity hop, some sweet strawberry malt and some seaside nose. Mouth is malty sweetness, sweet palate, nothing to note here. Brackish, some grassiness.
