A head that quickly dissipated and left quite a flat beer. However, this lack of any effervescence complemented a beer that was porter like in its flavour. Lots of toasted malt and some hop bitterness added interest, but I couldn’t escape the thought that it tasted a bit like home brew. The blurb said bottled Christmas pudding but I really didn’t get that stewed fruit flavour. All in all not very good. AshtonMcCobb (6604) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 29, 2016
Bottle from Local in Carlisle.
Appearance - deep ruby to brown with a lovely head.
Nose - plums, cherries and biscuits. Marzipan maybe!
Taste - more prunes with a biscuit backdrop. Fruit cake generally.
Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish.
Overall - really good beer. weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2014

Clear dark amber beer. Reasonable biscuit coloured head. Dry malty nose. Semi dry palate. Tangy orange, bordering on sour! A little mit of malt, what there is is rich. Hint of apple in the dry finish. Skewed methinks.
Botttle, from a shop in Glenridding. Deep ruby brown, thin shortlived tobacco yellow head and minimal condition. Initialy buttery and caramel sweet in the nose with some roasted coffee notes developing, full bodied fruity plum notes in the mouth with a pleasant roasted nutty bitterness and hints of toffee and liquorice, finish is chalky bitter and sweet liquorice lingering over some buttery notes thepegjett (1260) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2012

Bottled. A hazy dark brown coloured beer with a whitish bubbly head. Malty and woody with a bit of chocolate. Fruity and a touch bready. Not enough flavour for its strength really.
