UPDATED: NOV 24, 2004 excellent stew of roast, dark chocolate, prunes, caramel, fat sweet malt, coriander, astringent spice. some hot alcohol. should cellar magnificently, at the moment it’s a bit raw and scattered. vtmobile (43) - Alabama, USA - OCT 12, 2001
Nice autumn color with nice apple tones, although a little sweet and the palate is a bit short, strong yeast flavor that detracts ssurp (23) - trenton, New Jersey, USA - OCT 12, 2001
This is a nice beer. Liked the fruit notes and its somewhat chewy mouthfeel. The malty taste is there, but not overbearing. motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 9, 2001
pleasantly sweet. a little heavy in the mouth............................... Bov (13264) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - OCT 7, 2001
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2003 dark ruby-brown colour, big creamy head, nice lacing, malty, prune aroma, bready, vinous, very smoot, lightly sweet, sharp bitterness with a touch of acidity, long dry malty finish with notes of alcohol - robust and complex, the freshness of the mouthfeel is tempered by the quite heavy finish

not a fan, but it wasn't that bad, not too rich and bit of toffee? caramel? joet (2664) - Wilsonville, Oregon, USA - SEP 17, 2001
Some starting berry aromas fade to persistent banana notes. Some candy flavors but herbal and carmel flavors are more dominant in it's medium-low effervescent body. It finishes with some soft alcohol spice. Very nice. ravidesai (979) - Bombay, INDIA - AUG 22, 2001
a very malty yeasty ale.
a little too strong for me........................ rosebud (47) - Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA - APR 12, 2001
From the 1st sip I fell in love with this beer, the aroma reminded me of banana's as well as the flavor, very aromatic and nice bubbles, though some might not like this, I found it to be pleasant and relaxing. Oakes (18873) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 27, 2000
Rich, dark Belgian ale. Strong dark fruit notes, and probably too much yeast for my tastes.
