Pours a very opaque amber/golden. Much lighter than some quads. Thin ring of white head. Slight amount of lacing. Nose is very fruity and slightly hoppy. A lot of dark fruits-plum, raisin, grape. Some toffee and honey. A slight earthy/grassy note. Mouth is rediculously sweet. A lot of honey, caramel, plum and raisin. There is a hoppy undertone but its minimal. This definitely tasted more like a tripel. A lot of carbonation and bitterness that lingers. A lot of sediment.

Drank with Rik and Patrick @ Cafe Jos 30-6-17. A bit buttery, quite soft. A bit spice-like in the end.

Pretty nice tripel. A little oaky like acorns with florals and coriander. Some clove. Pours hazy golden with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Bottle.

A: Light amber with a large white head N: Sweet T:More sweetness, but kept in check by some serious bitterness. Plenty of spice notes, including a hint of lavender. P: Full O: Good, satisfying Belgian, definitely to be enjoyed slowly.

Opinión: Triple soberbia con notas a malta, caramelo, azúcar, naranja amarga, melocotón, flores y especias. Cuerpo potente, seca y algo licorosa. Lo mejor: Riqueza aromática. Incorporación de notas a confitura de naranja amarga en el conjunto. Lo peor: Prácticamente nada, salvo un mínimo superabit de alcohol.

I really enjoyed this one. Strong alcohol level and interesting taste. Rather sweet palate for such beer, a good and hoppy taste, small hints of honey and deep aftertaste... Surprisingly easy to drink and very pleasant! A very pronounced head however, beware, mine was quite nervous when I opened it. A pretty good surprise, totally APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!

Ambergeel, witte schuimkraag, ongefilterd, troebel, iets koolzuur. Gewoon goed.

sulawang (1161) - - FEB 7, 2017
Visual: Pours dull copper brown-orange with a small 1cm foamy head, super clusters upon clusters of active streams, suspended sediment - glorious.

Nose: yeasty funked out lagered barley malt, with honey notes (lvl-7)-pungency

Attack: crisp-thicker, micro-tingly

Mid-palate: smooth-rounded, alcoholic weighty, almost salty, (lvl-6)-sweetness, honey-chamomile barley malts, off-putting date note,

Finish: clove-banana exhale, nutty cocoa malt, soft bittersweet residual malts

Summary: Visually - great, 10% ABV - wow. The mouthfeel and texture are delightful but I just didn’t appreciate the almost salty note in the mid as well as the dark nutty date flav in the mid to finish; Somehow the honey/floral didn’t match up correctly for my palate.

Off white frothy head left a good cover on a rich orange coloured, highly effervescent body. Sweet citrus, orange & spice aroma. Medium bodied, airy on the palate, soft, then a prickle down the throat. Orange, spice, sweetish to the fore followed by long bitter aft.
