Just as abbeys try to strengthen their communities by attracting new young monks, brewery Van Eecke introduced this blond Kapittel to answer the big demand for paler beers. This 2010 Gold medal awarded blond Abbey-beer has a surprising smooth finish, is easy to drink with its 6.5 % alcohol volume. Although some may call this beer a “strong Belgian blond”, you’ll discover a lightly sour-sweet yeasty fruit on a par with mildly sweet pale malts and a refreshing flow of really fragrant, springy flower blossoms, orangey-citric fruity hops with a mildly mineral, chewy bitterness The finishing undertone is a tad zesty or slightly tangy to render a intriguing contrast with the smooth flowery aftertaste, light on the carbonation, just sufficient to render a refreshing palate, against a medium body and moderate flavor profile.

330ml Bottle. This pours a light golden body topped with a medium last head. Its aroma is floral and mildly sweet with hints of spices and hops. Its yasye is surprisingly malty with a citrus smoky finish with the slightest dry smoky linger. A very nice blonde this one.

Bottle 330 ml. Pours a light shady blond with medium white head. Some lacing. Particles. Aroma and taste features Belgian yeast, alcohol, malt, grains, herbal notes, flower, and honey. On par with the style. Good drinkability.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2017 Certainly not bad, but a bit disappointing after the Pater one in my opinion. A rather good but very classic and unsurprising blond beer, a bit tame in taste, I expected something deeper I guess. Yeast, light spices, but nothing much. Not bad but nothing special either. Enough to be APPROVED BY TAVERNY?S BLACK METAL CREW!

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2016 ok. some yeast, spices, light alcohol, sweetness. Honey, citrus? Ok beer; despite the flavors this is meh.

Pringao_Toribi (352) - Oviedo, SPAIN - OCT 16, 2016
Sweet citrusy/floral beer, with a rich liquor/yeast finish (smooth but fizzy)

Draft - clear golden yellow, small white head. Fairly strong aroma, lemony. Ok mouthfeel, but a bit weak tasting. Tang finish.

Coeno (12) - Roermond, NETHERLANDS - JUL 28, 2016
sweet and sour ;-). I found this rather watery with a fruity, medium sweet taste

martin00sr (3996) - Haderslev, DENMARK - JUL 10, 2016
Cloydy orange, big airy white head. Yeasty, malty aroma. Yeasty flavour, some malt and light estery notes. Some sweet citrus too. Nice but not that special.

Rhombic (130) - SPAIN - JUL 10, 2016
Pours pale amber with a diminishing white head. Aromas are refreshing, slightly fruity, some hay. A bit of a complex flavour with yeast and so on, but really ordinary for an abbey beer. Alcohol is rather prominent. On palate, it’s thin and boring but at least the finish is not that terrible.
