Bottle shared at Partizan - cheer to the crew. Pours unclear golden-reddish-brown, with a foamy, yellowish head. The aroma has a good bit of ripening berries, cherry, bread, Belgian yeast. Medium to big sweet flavour with lots of ready sugars, toffee, some earth, crusty brown bread, toffee, more berries, phenols. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with lots of toasted sugars, more toffee, ripe berries, more year, bread. A bit straightforward but not bad overall. Gaelic (179) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 11, 2017
Dark brown beer, beige head. Mouthfull of fruitds, especially prunes and raisins. ice bitter. Full body good beer. jjsint (3105) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2017
Bottle from the Cambridge Blue. Mahogany and clear with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Notes of chestnut, raspberry and raisin bread lay of the surface of the heady aroma. Sweet taste with notes of burnt Eccles cake, buttered toast and foraged berries. It ends as it starts although there more evidence of a balancing bitter hop in the finish. Carbonated to high heaven, which works for the style. An exceptional way to end the evening.

A: Brownish amber with a large tan head.
N: Sweetness, plums, liquorice.
T: Lots of dark fruits, strong prune flavour throughout. Quite bitter as well.
O: A bit one-dimensional for a Belgian strong, but enjoyable nonetheless. Cunningham (7977) - Halden, NORWAY - MAY 1, 2017
Nice dark golden color with a fine frothy head. Good intensity in the aroma. Full body and an average carbonation level. Mellow nice sweetness and an oily texture. Candy sugar, dried fruits and toffee. Lovely evening sipper.Evilman (247) - Taverny, FRANCE - APR 14, 2017

Okay, this is serious now. I enjoyed all the other Kapittel beers before this one, but we’re getting close to what I’d really recommend with this one. Interesting abv, pretty good taste, deeper and more bitterness than the Dubbel one, way closer to a really good Abbey beer in my opinion. Not a big step up, but rather a logical evolution... Quite lovely, but not yet on par with the Abt one. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW! sjorsvdg (538) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 19, 2017
Dit bier heeft bittere en zoete kanten. Gebrande mout en karamel overheersen. Verder wat fruit. Prima. Rune (12777) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 3, 2017
Bottle at Kings Head in Norwich, shared with friends. Solid foamy off-white head to a clear golden-brown body. Sweet aromas of caramel and dried fruits. Flavours of bread, dried fruits and candy sweet brown malts. The berry fruits at the ending keep all the sweetness at bay. Warming and nice (18.02.2017).
