Maakun's rating

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
Maakun (5564) - The Hague, - AUG 23, 2014
Slightly hazy light amber with medium white head. Insanely strong aroma of hops. Some more hops. Massive pine, soap, flowers, a strong chemical or skunky flavor like eating air freshener. Some light malts behind the massive hop onslaught too but not very noticeable. Light to medium bodied. This is more like eating hops drenched in soap or something, I love very hoppy beers but this is a bit too much for me, tastes a bit chemical. Not that great.

Nussig hopfiger Antrunk. Noten von Alkohol, mittelstarke Bitterkeit. Trocken, sehr blumig, dunkel. Sehr süffig, kantig. 10/11/12/12//12

Tap at Beerlovers Bar. Snow white, moussy, stable head over a hazy ochre-hued straw blonde beer. Aroma of withering dill, lime zest, grapefruit peel, dough, bread crust, unripe starfruit, the white underside of an orange peel. Crisp, lively fruity onset, raw pineapple, starfruit and lime notes, moderately sweetish and dito sourish, soft carbo, smooth bready malt sweet body; lightly resiny hop finish, aromatic, grapefruity with a softly sourish lime juice-like touch, bit spicy, elegantly bittering. Nice, well-balanced, flawless APA, could do with a bit more malt character perhaps, but in any case quenching and very elegant - in spite of that hideous name, which in my humble opinion is anything but elegant.

Drank with Rik 23-05-17 while watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. Soft fruity, lots of hop. Not too bitter. Nice.

Bottle from drankgigant.nl. Bitter, resinous and fruity nose. Taste is harsh bitter, lots of pine, dry aftertaste. Refreshing.

Buitengewoon behoorlijke American bitter (in mijn perceptie). Goed bier, zacht fruitig en licht bitter. Goed te drinken.
