Bottle shared in East Croydon during Scopey’s 5K tasting. Many thanks to Josh! Pours black-brown with a frothy tan head. Big peat whiskey aroma. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, with more strong peat, smoke, dark chocolate. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet dark malt finish with lingering robust peat. Pretty enjoyable stuff - if you enjoy a hefty dose of peat, which I do. Borresteijn (7602) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 29, 2015

330ml bottle courtesy of Benzai. Thanks. Pours a dark brown color with a small khaki colored head that slowly recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is light with mixed dark fruits and some cocoa. The taste is first and foremost very roasty-- I get well roasted grains, burnt toast, dark chocolates, plums, wood and some bitter chestnuts. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long, dry and roasty. Overall: I really did not get any whiskey flavors, but thats OK, it all worked. An excellent beer to start off 2015. Thanks Rene. jmgreenuk (10386) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - SEP 21, 2014
Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken light tan head. The aroma is sweet roasted malt, peat, boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich roasted, fruit, light creamy, alcoholic palate and a long bitter finish. The alcohol is well controlled here and although the effects of the barrel aging are there up front, it’s not right in your face.
