Cask (handpump) @ Dean Swift, 10 Gainsford Street, London, Greater London, England SE1 2NE.
Clear medium to dark red - brown amber colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hoppy, roasted, dusty chocolate notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Cask at the Southampton Arms. A reddish chestnut colour, looked quite flat with no head. Quite sweet, malty, a little thin. Pretty average. I think this sweeter style works better with more brown than red malts. imdownthepub (15160) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2012
Cask conditioned at The Charles Lamb, Islington, London. Copper with white head. Thin, malty, fruity beer, not a great deal of character or depth, fairly basic really. maeib (8751) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2011
Cask conditioned Handpump Southampton Arms London. A chestnut coloured beer with a little off-white pool of head. A sweet bitter with fruity and husky grainy notes. A bit of unclean water. Brown fruits. It’s average.
