Bottle. Appearance is gold with a decent head. It may be a lager but it tastes and smells like an IPA. superspak (6094) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - DEC 6, 2017
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 5/18/2017. Pours lightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts the whole glass. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of tangerine, peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, mango, melon, berry, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of tangerine, peach, lemon, pear, apple, mango, melon, berry, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, mango, melon, berry, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a very good hoppy pale lager style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the mildly bitter finish. Balanced Hull Melon/Mandarina hops and Pils malt flavors. Very flavorful for the ABV. Nice hop flavor presence, without much bitterness. A very enjoyable offering. scotchzombie (613) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - SEP 2, 2017
Pours hazy butterscotch with no head at all. Aroma is sweet biscuity Munich malt. Taste follows with a touch of honey. Smooth and balanced but could do with more carbonation. Linger is sweet and biscuit malt. Decent, though headless, Fest.

Didn’t realize it was a lager to start with, so thought it was a little mild. Pretty good. jrob21 (3840) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 11, 2017
Growler from ale yeah. Crisp and clean. A little bitter on the finish. Some pepper spice. Big frothy white head. A little more entertaining than a straight lager and refreshing for the summer.

6-pack from brewery. Just like description . Hop forward clean crisp, a bit heavier than the best hoppy pils, but wow this is the best lager I have ever had in 40 years! Surprised not higher rating . Does this qualify as an ipl? If so, best ipl as well. Much less harsh than most ipls.

Draft at Salud. Crystal clear golden aroma, dense white head with good retention and solid lacing, a truly gorgeous beer, especially after muddling through murky IPAs. Nice aroma of meadow, melon and citrus. Taste is peppery lager, crisp finish. Tasty. edgallow (4561) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 16, 2017

A: Pours hazy pale gold with 1/2" of thick white foam. Decent retention, good patchy lace and busy carbonation.
S: Light but sharp lemon and bread scent. A little zest.
T: Sourdough bread and hop notes of lemon, pith and again a hint of zest in nice balance with neither especially dominant.
M: Medium bodied with fine beaded carbonation. Slightly chewy
O: Very nice overall, rating pretty well in all categories although this could be quite old. Hi-Wire website says Available April–August so WTF? Lack of date info is disappointing but the beer is very solid.
Tap at brewery. Pours mostly clear pale yellow. Aroma is pale malt, light floral and citrus hops, and faint yeast esters. Flavor is dry and crisp with nice citrus hop notes and soft yeast esters. Light body.
