COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Historically brewed to withstand shipment across the North Sea, Baltic porters have a long tradition of being big, chewy beers. Enchanter draws from these roots by blending an abundance of dark malts with tannic dryness imparted by American White Oak. This robust porter was lagered for 8 weeks.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2018 12oz bottle - nose is coffee, leather and tobacco. Sip adds muted datk fruit, light burnt qualities and subdued hoppiness. I'm picturing a cold dungeon that was recently ravaged by fire.

2/17/2018 (12 fl oz bottle): Aroma is fruity and roasty, caramelized malt and a hint of char; dark brown color, tan-colored head; roasted malt, char, fruity, chocolate, soft vanilla; medium body, thin mouthfeel; VERY good, but Stone Xocoveza is a tough one to follow...

Bottle. Pours a clear brown body with a one finger fizzy brown head. The nose is roast, coffee, burnt caramel, and bitter chocolate. Flavor wise, it doesn’t come across as a Baltic Porter right away. It’s chocolaty and roasty with just a little caramel sweetness, but the more you have, the more the smooth, lagered, more licorice and caramel flavors emerge. Just a light hint of alcohol after a few swallows emerges. Medium to full bodied with a slight stickiness and soft carbonation. Pretty decent beer, not sure it’s a classic example of the style, but it’s tasty.

Tap. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with god lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and nut aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew.

Pour is a almost black with a little red showing through. Aroma is a bit of roast, cocoa powder and bitter bakers chcocolate. Flavor is more cocoa with some marshmallow sweetness. Finish has some chocolate covered banana and a touch of alcohol. While quite flavorful I don’t think Baltic porters should be this sweet.
