Bottle, 04/15/2015. Pours mahogany with ruby highlights, light tan frothy head. Aroma of candied fruit, berries, slight oxidation notes, rich and malty. Taste is sweet red fruity malts, yet nice citrus hop bite in the middle to offset, mild bitterness lingering in slightly sweet aftertaste. Medium light body. Aroma comes off as overly sweet, but taste is quite pleasant.

Bottle as Extra Special shared by Mick. 7% a big malty red Amber pour with s fiu beige head. The nose is caramel vinous malty sweet. The body is medium soft and fairly full. The taste is crackery malts, caramel sweet and smoothly tasty. Another pleasant surprise, good stuff.

Tap at Qbrick, Osaka. Deep red ruby color, small off-white head. Berryish, caramel aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish. Caramel and berries. Even some red currant. Overall a bit watery for this ABV.

Bottle. Notes from tasting session. Hop bitterness is moderate but definitely lingers. Moderate body, too. Strength is in the hopping.

Pint shared in Maltan with TimE. Colour is reddish. Nose is fruity, touch of cranberry. Taste is fruity, ale-like and with a sweetish sugary touch to it. Getting red fruit flavours too like cranberry and raspberry.

KyotoLefty (10531) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 9, 2010
2007 vintage, 2 years aged, draught at Q-Brick. The most beautiful dark crimson colored beer I have ever seen. Thin, lacy, head. Aroma of partly oxidized aged malt, cherry, and stone fruits, and a bit of smoke, Subtle and integrated. Flavor of rich caramel malt, slightly oxidized, with chocolate, cherries, raisins and other dried fruits, as well as some wood and a bit of funk. Quite dry, with sherry notes as well. Smooth, rich, and heavy. Wonderfully put together, though not really original or exciting. Very reliably done bock.

TimE (5999) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 9, 2005
Dark amber red color, caramel malty nose. Full body, rich mildly syrupy mouth with lots of caramel and a malty finish. Lacked a bit of depth, but not bad.
