Dark amber color. Of the three Hidden Legend meads tonight, this is the better one, more balanced, slightly sweeter, with a mild maple touch, and a feeling of Italian amaro.
Medium brown, rich and sweet. Has light maple, light honey, good balance. Has a light mapley character with a sweeter finish. Ferris (15305) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 6, 2016
Bottle - Nice sweet dark honey. Clearish Amber. Nice sweet honey, touch is spice and a light body finish. Decent. mcberko (17845) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 6, 2016
750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark amber orangey brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out burnt caramel and medium sweet honey. Flavour is along the same lines, with light maple, burnt caramel and tangy acidic notes on the finish. Quite a thin palate like all their offerings. Pleasant flavour, but a little weak and lacking oomph. Solid. michaelinwa (656) - Bothell, Washington, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Bottle. Light brown pour, good aroma with hints of maple. Flavor is medium sweet, with background of maple. Not heavy, but not at all light. Easy to drink, and very enjoyable.

750 ml. bottle- Pours a clear dark orange to almost brown, aroma is honey, sugar, alcohol, maybe maple, but not sure if I would say that if it weren’t called maple mead. The taste is nice, a solid honey flavor with maple added, just as you would expect, alcohol is there, but not overbearing like their dark mead. I think this is the second best behind the pure honey (which I need to re-rate, I think 3.9 is too low, I have dreams about that stuff, yeah it is that good), great stuff.
