750 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The mead is a deep purple. Completely still. The aroma hits me like a cabernet does. Dry, earthy, funky, and fruity. I get just a faint fruity sweet character from it. Kind of like a fruity ice cream of some sort. Berries and funky grapes come through in the taste and are fairly sweet. Slick mouthfeel. Thick. Unfortunately for me the dry aspects in the aroma did not follow through in the taste. I still enjoy the mead. DCLawyer (2842) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2015
Bottle share at Travlr’s. Purple with no head. Disturbing. Sweet berries and honey, a little boozy on the end. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 26, 2014

Murky plum grape juice, thin bubbled ring. Cheesy diacetyl nose, sting berry and sugars with dusty paper oxidation. Ultra sweet cheesy front palate, boozy whack across berry middle, stinging through the rough, hot papery end. Sticky and hot, bad throughout.
Bottle shared by BeerandBlues2 at DC Pre-Thanksgiving tasting. Thanks! Poured an uncarbonated, clear purple color. Aroma was some light sweet honey notes, elderberries aren’t my specialty, so I assume what I’m tasting is elderberry. Some light vanilla notes, honey. 750 ml. bottle- Pours a brilliant ruby red to purple. Aroma is berries, perfume, honey. The taste is pretty straight forward, elderberry, honey mostly after the swallow, not too sweet, very smooth, noticeable but not overbearing alcohol presence. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, coats the mouth with honey, a little thin. Really easy drinking, not the best Hidden Legend mead I have had, but enjoyable.
