Small sample from tap. Poured dark brown, bit of white foam. Aroma was quite lenient, some roast malts. Taste was quite enjoyable actually, dunkel is not my favourite style but this one had nice roastiness and quite fulfilling medium body, soft and fulfilling. Nicely brewed. maekchu (4024) - Hirakata, JAPAN - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle from World Beer Museum (Osaka) bottle shop. Moderate stink, yeast, and something close to happoshu spirits aroma. Dark translucent brown. with a massive fizzy head (pretty much a gusher). Sugary chocolate initial / goes nowhere in mid / finishes a touch tart and then settles into light brown sugar. Medium body. A big disappointment from Hideji. fonefan (50718) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 7, 2013

Tap at Gambrinus. Dark chocolate brown colour, small creamy golden head. Aroma is roasty, bit creamy. Touch of smoke and spice. Bit of chocolate too. Taste is nice, chocolate, creamy, soy sauce hint. Nice and smooth. Interesting enough. Not out of this world, but nice. Leighton (22054) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours fuzzy, red-brown with a light, white foam head. OK, some toasty caramel on the scene, a bit of brown sugar. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with toasty bread, a bit of doughy caramel. Alright.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a small off-white head. Malty, fruity, nutty & choccy aroma. Much the same on the tongue with subtle grain notes along with wood & spice. Quite gentle all round. Light to medium body, softish mouthfeel finishing with a short & delicate malt bitterness. jackl (8297) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 17, 2012
Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s deep brown with no head. The nose is deep chocolate and cinnamon. Some mocha. The taste is light chocolate, plenty of cinnamon spice. The body’s medium, this beer drinks smooth. A nice, well-made beer. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2012
