Amber-copper in color with descent white head. Malty sweet aroma and taste. Taste also has a touch of alcohol and a bit earthy. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 18, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Light brown with a tint of red and a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt and toffee with hints of leather and peat. Taste is of peat, light hop notes and caramel withe a hint of maple. Terminus (3702) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 12, 2004
tap at brewery-Im not a scottish ale type of person, but this one was a solid brew. pours a deep red color-slightly hazy. Aroma of currant, earthy hops, and alcohol soaked fruits (this batch came in at 7%). Palat was thick and chewy-flavors of peat, earth hops, rich malts that tingle the tongue. A solid offering from my local brewery. Andrew196 (1945) - Katy, Texas, USA - FEB 18, 2003
Probably the most average of all of the brews I had there but it still kicked ass! The aroma was of sweet maple syrup. The taste was a bit hoppier than I expected. Also had some hints of alcohol before the clean, non-lingering finish.
