Bomber. Date and raisin aroma with notes of tart cherry and candi sugar sweetness. Pours cloudy caramel colored with a thin tan head that has no retention or lacing. Starts with sweet dark fruit and candi sugar sweetness with a thin body and watery mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with caramel malt and slight cherry tartness. Decent, but thin body and mouthfeel for the style.
Just slightly more drinkable than the original. It adds sweet cherries to the already sweet syrupy base. Did not enjoy. ajnepple (7342) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - AUG 14, 2013
On tap at the Rackhouse Pub. Deep reddish plum color with a small head. Dark fruit, Belgian yeast, sugar, caramel and cherries. Full body, a little alcohol towards the finish. Pretty smooth. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - AUG 9, 2013
Tap at Colorado Plus. Pours clear tawny with a small, frothy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, cherry/stone fruit, alcohol and earthy hops with Belgian yeast character. Flavor is fruity esters, honey and cookie malt, light hops and bitterness, cherries and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2013
Tap @ High Hops. Pours a fairly clear, dark reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Sweet candy sugar, caramel, cherry fruity, light toffee aroma. A bit strong, dark candy sugar, fairly dark fruity, plum flavor that dries out a fair amount on the finish. Pretty good but I’m not sure it’s an improvement on The Noble One.
