3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a light copper golden color with a finger of sticky tight foam. The nose has some nice fresh citrus hop presences and a toasted bread, doughy malt. The palate is balanced nicely with a big bready doughy backbone that holds the brighter spicy pine and citrus hop notes in check. Nice session beer with a clean refreshing bitterness on the finish.
Tap. The brew was poured with a big, nice head. Aromas of green hops and light malts. Hazy. Some earth tones and a nice balance between malt and hops. Recommended. jdobbs (411) - New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 11, 2014
This is a rather mild and timid APA. There’s no big bitterness, and every aspects from aroma, body and taste are adequate yet only moderate. It’s very easy to drink alright, yet it gives you that feeling of "there could be so much more to be great" crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 24, 2014
Dull pour, tons of yeast, maybe old? Got it out of a mix 6er at binnys south loop. Smell is mundane, faint herbs nad citrus zest, cardboard. Flavor is typical mid 90s pale ale, heavy yeast, slight bitterness, floral. Tastes old but I have no way of knowing because of no date. Frozer (241) - Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2013
Poured a cloudy light straw color with no head. Aroma is slight citrus but not much. Too dry for my liking. Hop profile is okay but the malt tastes very dry and leaves your mouth dry also. ScipioA (405) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 8, 2013
Hazy orange with a little tan head on the top. Unappealing funky, dank aromas with a little bit of citrus. Some weird ashy flavors I’m not a fan of, plus grassy hops. Surprisingly bitter but without any of the delicious hop flavors or sweet malt to provide some balance. Good mouth feel at least, nice and thick with restrained carbonation. Overall I’m disappointed in this, I bought it a month ago but with no date on the bottle who knows how old it may be.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a small fizzy white head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is moderately hoppy with some floral and citrus notes. Nice fairly dry smelling crackery malt base. The flavor is showing some lightly bitter hops with just a little floral character. The malt is pretty dry and lingers nicely in the background. Not the most exciting APA, but it’s solid. I could go with a little bit more brightness and flavor from the hops. Lighter bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. Decent enough I suppose. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 24, 2013
Bottle:   Milky dark straw, moderate sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Fruity and citrusy nose.   Moderate hop bite on the tongue, slight rind and pith, but also a little fruity.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.
Seems a sweeter example, hoppy yet not too bitter.   Nice sweet malt background balances it out.   Not your typical west coast Pale Ale.   I like! hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2013
12oz pour bar near Depaul, no not local option. Medium amber color with light sticky head. Sweet citrus, light pine aroma. Crisp and clean. Flavor follows nose. jbruner (5287) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 11, 2013
Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma of citrus and peppery hops with a grassy, almost wheat malt background. Taste follows, bitter hops and grass. Decent, easy drinking pale ale, just a touch unbalanced. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - FEB 1, 2013
It pours golden leaving a hazy body and a one inch white foamy head in my nonic. The head dies to a centimeter and beautiful spiderweb foamy lacing clings to the sides of the glass. It looks like there are hops floating around inside the beer and light carbonation is seen bouncing off trying to get to the surface. The smell is predominantly hops with a slight malt background more so as the beer warms. The taste is predominantly bitter. It seems like malts try to kick in, but actually stay mostly subdued for the most part. The palate is about a medium with a moderate amount of harshness on the tongue. It leaves a dry and bitter aftertaste and finish. Overall, this is an average APA that I might come back to.
