COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Across the Pond uses a unique blend of English and American hops to deliver a soft aroma with subtle supporting malt accents. The hop bitterness perfectly compliments the specialty malt flavours. "Across the Pond" It is a very drinkable, thirstquenching and enjoyable ale in the tradition of the fine English ales available around Cambridge, England (where Ted grew up!).

Nice English Ale. Pours misty copper in color. Off white head with little lacing. Malt forward with hints if biscuit and caramel, this medium body ale, finishes with a mild hop, easy drinking. Will buy again.

Pours a hazy amber colour with a beige frothy head, good retention and some foamy lacing. At first, the smell was not quite good with the hops showing metallic and mild chemical notes. At the last pour though, this seems to change to a nicer fruity malt nose. The fruity malts do show in the flavours the whole time, with a nice light dry finish. Caramel undertone with hints of woods. A little too much hops for the style, but as a North American version - this is fine.

Deep Amber pour with a thick off-white head. The aroma is fairly malty with a nice toastiness and a bit of earthy/grassy character. There's a touch of herbal/spiciness and a fairly assertive bitterness. It's got good bones with a nice balance of malt and hops. Pretty fresh tasting with a solid integration of hip flavour and aroma into a nice beer. It's a bit over-bittered but overall, nicely done.

Pours slightly hazy copper with an offwhite head. Aroma is earthy. Taste is a little sweet and a little bitter. Notes of earthy hops like tobacco, a bit of bready malt, a hint of caramel and a little red fruit. Light body and moderate carbonation. One of the better English style ales I've had.

Tap sample at Crafty Coyote. Clear copper. Off-white head. Caramelly and a bit earthy-leafy, damp. Drysh finish. Seems true to style... Pretty nice.

can. Poured deep amber with a creamy off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with a musty quality. Medium-light body, creamy carbonation, buttery mouthfeel. Caramel malt flavour, bready with herbal hops, slightly astringent.

Pours a clear caramel with a half finger, off white head. Notes of caramel, toffee, malt, and a drawn out ending.

Nice bright red hue, steady clingy head - very clear. Aroma is not promising - very metallic and musty underneath the malty cherry sweetness. Some of the dirty notes translate to the taste as well, but it also hits many of the usual points of an ESB. Sweet toffee/cherry malt (quite mild actually), a bit of hop, light bitter finish. It’s not awful, but I can’t recommend it.

Canned. The body is clear brown with a thin layer of foam. The aroma is malty and sweet. The taste is sweet too and has a fruity finish.
