COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blind Spot - Dark Specialty Ale: Blind Spot is ideal for the colder months, but perfectly enjoyable any time of the year. Fermented with a traditional English yeast. Wonderfully robust, full-bodied with a rich and warming finish. We have added a light dosing of dried ginger, cardamon, grain of paradise and star anise to the whirpool for some enjoyable spicing.

A - Pours a dark black with just a hint of brown mixed in and a finger of frothy khaki colored head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of holiday spices with some clove, cinnamon, and ginger. There is some dark sweet and roasty malts beneath with a hint of dark fruitiness. T - Starts off with some holiday spices with some cinnamon, ginger, a hint of sweet dark fruit, and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, a bit of roasted malt come through with some more spices and a bit of of light fruity flavors. The finish is a mix of sweet lightly roasted malts with spices, dark fruit, and a hint of booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate-light carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet, spicy, and warming finish. D - Very drinkable. Really nice malt and spice balance with good complexity. The finish has a great mix of being sweet and warming.

On tap at Beer Rev, pours deep brown with a thin tan head. Full nose of dried fruit and roasted malt. Addition of chocolate in the flavor with some vinous fruit and chocolate. Somewhat dry finish. Hides the 8.2 very well!

22 ounce bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma is a bit spicy with perhaps some rye or juniper character. Light anise. Fair sweetness and roastiness presence as well. Nice, robust aroma. Scantly transparent dark brown/mahogany body with a medium light tan head. Decent legging present. Starts quite sweet and sugary at first, with some anise, mild cocoa, and spiciness following. Finishes with a robust roastiness. The English yeast imparts almost a minerally underbody. I found this beer really enjoyable. More along the lines of an English Strong Ale than a Spice/Herb/Vegetable, IMO.

Svart med lys brunt tykt lavt skum. Brent sjokolademalt, mørke bær, gjær, alkohol, kakao, mye på gang her. Noe bær også. Smaken er overraskende rund og fin. Fruktsmaker og bær, tørket frukt. Syrlig lett bitter avslutning.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate, mint and roasted malt. The flavor is similar with a lot of mint and wintergreen accompanied by some chocolate, roasted malt, light spices and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

On tap at Beachwood for the Highwater Release night. Pours with a clear bronze hued body with a large, khaki tan head. Aromas are of cardamom, bready, cinnamon, clove, nutty, spicy, malty, cola. Flavors are nutty, malty, molasses, medium spice that lends a brightness. Dry, low spicy bitterness in the finish. Great, late in the season winter warmer.
