Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014 London Sunday Tasting. Won this during Free Beer week a few years ago - thanks! Pours clear amber with a bubbly tan head. Rich stewed fruits in the aroma, some caramel, vanilla, toasted wood. Big sweet flavor with notes of golden raisins, toasty bread, alcohol, caramel, light leafy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation; somewhat chewy. Hot finish, moderately sweet, with some dates, bread and fruitcake. A hearty beer, for sure. The booze is just a bit too forward. Otherwise it’s great stuff. jfb (6256) - GERMANY - SEP 25, 2014
