Bottled 0,66l (PBF, barrel aged and vintage 2011)
Deep ruby color, small beige head, Vanilla, toffee and bourbon in the nose. Medium-bodied. Lots of bourbon in the flavor, even pure, burning alcohol, vanilla. Way too alcoholic still although quite good.

Bottled at PBF, thanks to baggio’s American friend whose name escapes at this time of the night. Hazy mahogany colour, small head. Bourbony caramel aroma. Sweet, full bodied, well rounded mouthfeel. Fudge wrapped in vanilla with heating bourbon and white pepper. Despite the sweet soft mouthfeel the heat of the bourbon takes over.

650ml bottle

Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma of sweet syrupy malts, toffee, caramel and sugar. Taste is sweet and sticky with notes of syrupy malts, toffee and caramel. Finish is stingy and sticky with hops, warming alcohol, syrupy malts and caramel. Too sweet for my taste.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with ruby highlights, medium fizzy light tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is bourbon, oak, caramel and toast malt with fruity esters and pine hops. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, bourbon and vanilla with oak, fruity esters and sweet malt with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Bottle:   Super dark caramel, thin frothy tannish head, little lacing.   Malty nose, sweet, some toffee or caramel notes, slightly green.   Not as malty nor as sweet on the tongue.   Slight astringency, but not strong.   Feels like an English style Barley Wine, but one that isn’t too big or heavy.   Hard to believe this is 10.5% ABV.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   This one really needs to be thicker and heavier, and a bit more biscuit.   It finishes like a watery English style Barley Wine, some caramel/toffee like malt sweetness, little on the side of hop bitterness.   Hides its ABV well, but needs more body.

Big spirited aroma of bourbon on this one and that follows through in the flavor. After you get accustomed to it, coconut and vanilla comes into the picture. Sampled at collaboration LA at the Belasco theater.

Bottle pours medium brown with light brown head, nice lacing. Aroma sweet caramel with pine hops. Initial taste of sweet caramel /toffee, a little bourbon with a bitter oak and resinous hop finish. Have to say I didn’t enjoy the finish at all, an unpleasant aftertaste.. Nice thick palate, soft carbonation.

Poured out of a 22 oz bottle into a trappist glass (or is it a chalice???) Dark in appearance with the crimson showing depnding on how much light you have, it pours with little head which dissapates to just the edges with a slight trace across the top. Aroma is caramel, smoky and as advertised something appealing as a slow sipping beer by the fireplace. Taste also is abundantly of caramel, roasty. Light on the carbonation and medium warmth going down.

Bottle pours a cola dark brown. Has a ok head. Smells and tastes roasted malt some hops vinilla wood almost like a dirt or earth smell taste. I don’t like it waste of money.
