COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the Spirit of legendary gold rush born on the mighty rivers of our Golden State of California, we off Rio d’Oro, or River of Gold. Brewed with Belgian pilsner and caramel malts, Styrian Golding hops and Belgian yeast from East Flanders, this tresure glitters with aromas of tropical fruits and dry effervescent finish. A shining nugget to add to your cache, Rio d’Oro is truly worth its weight in gold.

Hazy gold beer, tidy off white head. Minerally crisp palate. Semi dry pale malt, with a little spice. Mellow citrus. Crispy finish. Pretty bored of middle of the road Belgian ales.

Smallish offwhite head. Clear amber body with lots of little
floaties. Fruity floral marzipan aroma with caramelized sugar
notes. Dry-sweet dried fruit and oily funky taste with caramelly
papery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy
caramelly fruity taste with floral herbal spicy notes. Nice,
drinkable, full of flavour. (0.65l bottle, from Kihoskh,
Copenhagen.)

Tap. This beer was pretty lame. :-( Too many hops. But that is what the brewer is known for. Slick and phony. Ultra clear. There was some grainyness that I liked.

Pinball (12421) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 9, 2013
clear dark orange, fizzy offwhite head.
aroma is like a tamed belgian blonde with some flowery notes. mild note of belgian yeasts, flowery hoppy note too. Hop profile is sort of more complex than your usual belgian, with flowers and exotic fruits - but it is quite in the background. flavor is yeasty, spicy, fruity, dry, true to belgian style, and tastes well-brewed, balanced. Really nice taste in fact.
