, wolverhampton. Amber beer with small creamy head and good lacing. Aroma is a hint of whisky. Taste is malfunctioning, biscuit and a touch of whisky in there. A little too light on the palate. A decent enough beer.
Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet amber in colour with a thin creamy white head. Hint of single malt in the short aroma. Thin but smooth mouthfeel and good lacing. Fiery pale malt gives a robust digestive biscuit note with a note of vanilla and oak cask. Short prickle of dusty hop resins in the quick aftertaste. Finish is warming, smooth and malty with a touch of diluted Glayva about it. A decent version of a whisky ale. madmitch76 (25344) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2009

Bananaish undertone in the start and a malty mid. A little vanilla as well. The whisey is well blended in and very subtle. bb (9697) - Alamo, California, USA - OCT 16, 2009

Cask @ The Wheatsheaf Frimley Green. Pours a bright, dark orange golden colour, with a off-white head . The aroma is lightly floral scented with a lightly green apple aroma. The taste is a rich note of mixed malts with a touch of burned sugar, backed by a refreshingly woody and slightly alcoholic note, faint hint of berries, and a subtly fruity hop aroma at the back.
The finish is a slightly tartly-sweet fruity and woody upfront, decorated with a hint of vanilla and oaky hint of whisky. bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2008
Handpulled cask at JDW Harrow, during recent international beer fest. Copper with thin lasting beige head. Alright, bit more sweet more than anything else. Yeasty aroma. More than a hint of whiskey and oak barrels. Not sure whether I like it or not!

[Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Sickly sweet aroma of cough medicine. Tastes smooth, you really get a whisky flavour here. Lots of malt. Grew on me over the course of the drink and would have liked to try more. However, it’s quite sweet - fear it could get rather syrupy if you drank too much. cgarvieuk (25728) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 18, 2008
Dark amber ... no nose ... sweet fruity caramel hps ... light malts ... tart bitter linger. Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 4, 2008
Cask at The Railway (Wetherspoons) in Putney, 2nd April 2008. Orange with a white head. Vanilla, malt and warming whisky scents are all present in the nose. Flavourwise, you’ve got whisky notes layered over an ok beer. Good alcoholic warmth and a bitter finish round it off. I felt it managed to incorporate the whisky elements without ruining the beer.
