This beer pours a pale golden color with a moderate white head. The aroma contains lemons, grassy notes and a light herbal scent. The flavor is rather tame with some bitterness presence. I taste lemons, bready notes, and really not much else. Not much malt backbone to this one. The finish is slightly dry. Overall Highland makes much better but this is an ok quaffing beer. They call it a bitter. They call it a pale ale. I call it dull but drinkable. A fairly dry but tasteless beer with a bitter finish. I don’t see the point in making stuff like this. CelticBrew (912) - The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA - JAN 28, 2009
Pours a clear light amber hue from 12 oz bottle, forming a single finger white foamy head, bubbles galore rise up through the brew, aroma of lightly malted hops, English hillside grasses. Flavour is of yeasty bitterness initially, grass like hoppage with a particular malty character. Ah, yeah, English Pale Ale, drinkable, but only two dimensional at best. Hey Highland, sheeeesh, try an APA for once. tronraner (2459) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Bottle at the Febmergency tasting. Pours gold with small whitish head. The aroma is ripe melon, orange, some spicy hops, and a slight off note. The flavor is melon, apple, and some disembodied bitterness. The finish is oddly nutty. Decent I guess, but not great. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 11, 2009

Bottle from oldgrowth. Light gold pour with a ring of white froth. Slight bitter, bready malts on the nose. Easy on the palate with a very smooth/bitter flavor. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 20, 2009
Bottle thanks to mar. Pours with a small white head over a golden body. Aroma of light British hops, bread, honey, and apple. Taste is the same, but very weak and watery. Fizzy and dry. astrofrk (341) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 22, 2009
On tap at Barley’s.
Light amber. Medium, white head. Aroma: Citris hops, caramel. Flavor: Citris hops, earth. Mild bitter finish. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JAN 21, 2009
Im still astonished they removed Tasgall ale for this line of mediocre seasonal beers. If it aint broken why fix it? Clear gold pour thick white head and drippy lace. Grainy/corny aroma which is very unbecoming in my opinion. Thin bodied easy drinker. Sweet malty flavor with a slight twist of hops. Dry finish. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 7, 2009
Bottle at decaturstevo’s Februmergency Tasting for those of us that missed out on Sexual Chocolate ’09. Pours a clear golden yellow with thin ring of white head. Aroma of light hops and cantalope melon rind. Flavor is corn with a distinct hop bitterness. Lingering bitterness on the palate. Not bad.
