COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name pays tribute to Scotland’s historic military regiment known as The Black Watch. With their dark tartan and mission to keep watch over the Highlands, Highland salutes these warriors with a dark mahogany colored brew that pours silky smooth. Black Watch Double Chocolate Milk Stout combines more than 100 pounds of cacao nibs with five malts, roasted barley, and flaked oats to create a rich, high-gravity ale reminiscent of brownie batter and marshmallows with an aromatic nose and a lingering dark chocolate finish.

12oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate vanilla coffee. Tatse is more of the nice sweet malts toast coffee and milk chocolate.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of tan head that lingers. Huge chocolate milk nose with cacao nib and faint coffee. Brownie-like character on the palate. Lots of milk coffee flavors come out as well. Super smooth and rich. Very drinkable with abv hidden well. Probably the best Highland I have had at this point. Great stuff.

Wow. This is a really solid milk stout. It's sweet and chocolatey (and strong) without being too rich or cloying. Really well done.

On tap at Flying Saucer, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out loads of chocolate upfront, with low roast. Flavour is an intense chocolate bomb, with dark chocolate dominating. Low sweetness and low-medium bitterness, with a fairly dry palate. Lots of depth and wonderfully rounded. Excellent.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2017 Bottle from App Vintner - Pours pitch with a tan head. This one is all about the chocolate, which it does well. Yum!

Bottle from apppalachian Vintner. Pours jet black with a khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Nice chocolate and milky notes on the nose and tongue. Hides it’s booze well. Finished clean. Pretty good.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2017 On tap at Tapworks in FWB. By far the best beer i’ve had from Highland, not to say they don’t have some excellent beers. I’m more of a coffee first then chocolate stout kind of guy but this inverts that but delivers on both ends. One of my favorite chocolate forward beers, up there with Terrapin Moo hoochiato and Sam Smith Organic Chocolate.
