3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint on draft at Za’s Pizza Pub. Aroma: Has a pretty full spiced breadiness about it; hop character is freshly herbal and tends towards lemon. Appearance: Transparent copper body with soft carbonation holding up a sticky tan head that settles into a skin. Flavor: Slightly spiced bread up front that is quickly met by a growing herbal hop presence and a bit of lemon; the finish is mostly dry and lightly bitter. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A well constructed example of the style that features a fresher-feeling hop presence than many others; maybe I just happened upon a fresh keg.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2015 Twelve ounce bottle from Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate. Nice dark amber color, clean but faint malty aroma, moderate bittersweet flavor with odd vinous/butter-like note. Not the best beer from Highland I’ve ever had.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
BOD 7/7/15. Pours a clear medium amber. Very good (for a lager) head volume, lacing and retention.
Very light nose of biscuit with caramel notes.
Heavy light body that is somewhat smooth. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent middle and a finely bubbled burst in the finish.
The flavor profile is good. Reasonable intensity, lacks complexity but is very well balanced. It begins with a toasty biscuit that is more cracker than sweet. The middle brings an extremely light hop flavor (herbal) and bitterness. A brief hint of caramel emerges at the start of the finish. The finish is semi-dry and a herbal hop note lingers.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from trio. Pours clear Amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has your typical sweet esters for the style with some toasted malt and caramel notes. A slight spice from the hops. The taste has a spicy hops presence over a sweet brew. Not bad
