Brownish pour. typical caramel malt dominate aroma. Flavor is much the same. Nothing special here. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - NOV 30, 2009
pours amber, off-white head
aroma is hoppy, some spices and malts.
flavor, caramel malts followed by thin bitter hop profile.Overall finish retains a good amount of sweet caramel, light spices also noted for some bitterness. Enjoyed this one a lot, more on the sweet side and not so much of the over hoppy seasonals out there. douglas88 (9632) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 19, 2009
12 ounce bottle thanks to brentk56. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that goes down quickly. The aroma is full of those crisp malts, light banana that smells like Autumn. A easygoing smooth flavor; light hops, sweet malts, light banana. Smooth and nice. I could drink a few liters of this. biznizness (1128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Not as huge in the flavor dept, but very creamy and smooth. A solid highland offering, however not in my top tier of Ofests. I do always like to support NC breweries, though, so I’ll probably buy again. hopscotch (11247) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Bottle… Clear amber lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Biscuity, caramelized, toffee nose with a hint of acetaldehyde. Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Well-balanced. Malty caramel sweetness balanced by spicy hop bitterness. Crisp, lightly bitter finish.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Clear amber orange color with a very small, foamy, off-white head. Poor head retention.
Aroma: Toasty, malty nose with some dough notes as well.
Flavor: Earthy malt, some grain, malt sweetness, and an alcohol bite. The bitterness seemed to be a bit off on this one.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium, malty finish.
Overall: This one lacks a bit of crispness and just seems to sit there on your tongue. Everything just doesn’t quite come together with this one. Skip it in favor of better examples. possumjc (149) - Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA - OCT 17, 2009
12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper color. Aroma is spicy sweet. The flavor was more bland than the aroma would indicate. There were some hops in there but really not much more. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - OCT 12, 2009
Solid Oktoberfest. Pours a bright copper, big white head. Caramel and bread dough flavors, just a bit of hop at the end. Pretty straightforward. Cybercat (6156) - Georgia, USA - OCT 8, 2009
Pours a clear coppery-reddish with a decent slightly off-white head. Aroma is malty and just a little spicy, mainly cinnamon and cloves. Flavor is rather strong and malty with an undertone of cloves and cinnamon and just a hint of caramel. Smooth, tingly, fizzy texture leaves a spicy and fizzy finish. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 7, 2009
Pours a nice copper color with a an off white head. Aroma is caramel, grain, toast, biscuit, and some spicy hops. Flavor is caramel, toast, biscuit, grain, and a bitter spicy finish.
