Clawhammer Oktoberfest is a lightly colored, but toasty, rich and full bodied Marzen style lager, brewed with traditional German malt and the finest noble hops. A spicy hop finish and aroma balance out the abundance of malt flavor. Clawhammer means pure high-country enjoyment!

Bottle. Translucent dark amber with a tall, frothy tan head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, and light spicy hops. Big caramel and sweet malt up front with spicy hops, toffee and toasted malt following. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Finished with more caramel, bigger toffee presence, spicy hops, toasted malt and dark bread.

Nice and quite refreshing. Not much to say but it was well brewed. Easy to drink and nice aroma.

Bottle pour. The beer is a clear amber with a white head of foam. The aroma has spicy toffee notes. Moderate nutty character. Medium body and medium carbonation.

12 oz bottle. small fizzy tan head (quickly and almost fully dissapated) into copper body. aromas of light caramel, light hops, and some corn (done in a good way). flavor is initially bittersweet and finishes more bitter with a little less sweet. dry texture. long finish duration. lively carbonation. one of the better ones of this style.

2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Pours orange with white head. The aroma is grain, fruit, and distinct Munich malt. The flavor is toasty with some leaves and light caramel, and a little bit of hay in the finish. Not too shabby.

Sampled at the 2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Orange in the glass with a thin white ring for a head. Caramel malts in the aroma. The flavor finds a mix of grains and caramel. Medium plus body and sweet upfront with a slight bitter ending.

Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of caramel, earthy. Tastes of light spice, dough,pepper, sweet malt. A hint of bitterness on the finish.

Poured from bottle. Good aroma of sweet bread and citrus. Cloudy amber with a bit of head. Tasting brown sugar with malt and citrus/pear flavors. Also some cinnamon and spice. Kinda different - not bad.
