Bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good to excellent lacing. Toasted malt and spice aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced spice flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Winter 2008 22 ounce bottle from PJs Fast Mart in Sylva, North Carolina. Pours a clear deep red color with a medium tan head. Fair head retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel, raisin, toffee, bread, cinnamon. Taste like liquid graham crackers... toastiness, cinnamon, bread, some subtle hops and dark fruits. Medium-full bodied. Sample at Nona Tap Room. The beer is a clear mahogany color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing. Malt, caramel and vanilla in the nose. 1 liter bottle acquired in trade with merlin48 (thanks!). 2005 vintage. Poured a deep orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of spices (I was getting mint, wintergreen, and peppermint), pine, vanilla, and orange peel. The spices were present in the tastes too but on the lighter side with caramel, vanilla, and citrus.
