Light bodied and easy drinking amber ale. Faint caramel nose and taste. Not much going on. A good beginner beer. No after taste so goes down easy.

Aroma of earthy hops, caramel, toast. Amber clear color with tan head with good retention. Flavors of earthy hop bitterness, caramel, toast, butterscotch and diacetyl. ASTRINGENT palate. High residual bitterness. slowrunner77 (13368) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 28, 2016
Nice unique blend of roasted and bready malts, and bitter hops. Not a favorite red/amber, but not bad. Vestlake (279) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - NOV 30, 2015
Bottle pour. Nice Amber color with a half a finger head. Good roasty, malty taste up front, but too much bitterness for me. Okay, but there are better ambers out there. Augdraught1981 (267) - Harlem, Georgia, USA - NOV 10, 2015
Pours an expected, amber, with healthy but quickly disappearing light khaki head. Taste is smooth with some roast, sweetness, fruitiness and bitterness. The sweetness is almost artificial but not overpowering, and the toast adds a nice dimension. Overall, easy drinking and flavorful. Pretty good!

Tap @ the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead, Georgia. Lovely red pour with beige head that dies too fast. Light nose of caramel, bakery, and cashews. Tastes very much like it smells. Not perfect but quite nice. sloshgator (770) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 14, 2015
Highland Gaelic Ale is an above average table beer great with food. Moderate aroma of malt rising from a dark brown pour with an ample head. Taste is malty balanced nicely with hop flavors. Gaelic Ale is a great everyday beer but not particularly outstanding. radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - AUG 21, 2015
Draft at a FATZ in Asheville, NC served in a pint glass; clear reddish-amber color with off-white head. Aroma notes of caramel malt sweetness and mild citrus hops. Taste adds some bread, fruitiness and faint spice. Light body, moderate-low carbonation, crisp, dry with clean sweet finish. Good amber ale, better than average. Great beer, very balanced and smooth. I'd love to have it again but my brother brought it to Seattle from Ashville. The one thing holding this beer back is the name and color. I expected a red beer.

Rather sour for my taste. Appearance and aroma aren't off putting at all, though. Won't buy again
