First rating for this beer! Poured at the Brewgrass Festival in Asheville. Pours a clear copper color, with a thick, foamy light tan head. looks pretty nice. Smells of big hops, with some definite malty characters surrounding it. Seems to be balanced so far. The taste is actually big on the malt flavors. Almost creamy, with the big hops making their presence known as well. Pretty complex and interesting. Not awesome, by any means, but pretty solid. From a bottle provided by Oscar the night before Brewgrass. Thanks! Aroma is full of green hops, some malt, but mainly just fresh green hops that smell like they had been picked hours before entering this beer. Flavor is very hoppy too (5 different hops added at 7 different times will do this!) with a piney and citrus like taste. Fairly dry and earthy finish. nearbeer (5563) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 9, 2007
650 ml. Hazy, darkish copper with a medium head that lasts well with nice glass frosting. Honey, orange peel, resin and granola aroma. Taste is orange frosting, turning to orange chewable kid’s aspirin, then to malty-orange pine resin and ending with a bitter citrus-herb grass. Palate is light-medium bodied and really smooth. Quality brew, but has the most purely orange hop flavor I have ever sampled, and this lends a sweetness that detracts after half a glass. Sammy (12623) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2007
With great appreciation to Mike from Cole’s for sharing his bomber. Soapy head. Yeast and complex meld of five hops, including dry hops. Really stands out as interesting taste, this is not a hop bombing. Thanks Swoop Jones and to your sis for bringing back. Magjayran (1378) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 18, 2007
Clear orange/amber color with a rather large white head. Lace sticks to the glass the whole way down. Pineapple and tangerine in the aroma with some faint pine. Tangerine and peach in the flavor is rather nice but there is a rather boozy finish that I’m not very fond of. The heat at the end of this brings the score down a notch or two but I could see this one settling down a tad in a month or two.

Bomber from elmatador00 - thanks!! Amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy/piney with lots of malty/bready sugar. Taste has a good amount of citrus and floral hops and lots of big bready-sweet malts. Nice mouthfeel overall. Good brew, but way too malty to be among the best in the style. I enjoyed it (and not to piss on anyone who likes the maltier DIPAs) but I would rather have a good barleywine if I want this much malt with my hops. Still very good for what it is. Bomber thanks to Jmichael, I believe! Poured clear, fiery medium orange with a short-medium cap of beige head. The aroma was entirely juicy, with grapefruit and pear leading the way.. strong, alcohol-fueled toffee and caramel undertones.. enjoyable spicy accents.. quite nice! The flavor had grainy, boozy toffee and lighter fruits at the core, with biscuit sweetness around the edges.. floral and juicy citrus bitterness provide solid accents.. strong and warm at the end... tasty, but a bit rough at times. Creamy, almost buttery feel across the middle of the palate with a stronger, boozy and grainy feel on the finish.. decent flow, and very warming in the belly. Bottle courtesy of dragonstout. Pours amber/copper with a tan large head. Smells of perfume, wildflowers, pine tar. Tastes of caramel, citrus, spice, hints of bitterness, but heavy on the malt character. Sweet orangy finish. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 9, 2008
Bottle, thanks swoop jones. Nice golden orange, fiery, hazy, small white head, but good lacing. Nice aroma of caramel and lot sof hops - of the oily variety, not fruity. Taste is really sweet - more caramel, tons of resiny hops, sticky sweet body. Alcohol as well hidden as it could be, body is medium shading light for the style, decent carbonation. Straightforward well done example, which is just fine by me. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 31, 2008
22oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was sticky and off white with decent retention. Some nice lace was left behind at the end. The aroma was malt dominated with molasses, caramel, and plum notes. Thicker mouth feel than I had anticipated. Sweet on the tongue with mild hop bitterness peeking through the syrupy sugars. Malts outweighed the hops in the flavor. Caramel and toffee dominated with more submissive orange, alcohol, and raisin notes. Pretty good.
