Bottle. Darkest brown color with white head. Aroma is fudge, chocolate. Taste is fudge, chocolate, bonbon, herbal. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. A bit too sweet and bonbony for me.

Bottle.Opaque with a light, beige head that thins out pretty quickly. Smells of malt and caramel. Caramel in the taste too, with vanilla, chocolate and malt. It's very smooth and even through the aftertaste the savoury and sweeter flavours are balanced out nicely, with a just a whiff of boozniess to it.

pours almost clear dark brown with a very nice reviving light beige head offering good retention and lacing. dark caramel, lactose pale chocolate, almost white one with vanilla woodsiness; lots of purple blackberries as well, high gravity english yeast. low carbonation, medium body - very oily; sweet, warming and mellow fruity-woodsy finish. sweetish blackberry-driven strong stout.

0.33 l bottle from 'Britische Biere', best before December 2017, almost two years old I guess. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a little fruity-spicy aroma of milk chocolate, soft coffee, hazelnut, vanilla and a touch of soy sauce. Rather sweet, malty, slightly roasty and minimally fruity-spicy taste of milk chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, vanilla and traces of soy sauce, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, just slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, smooth, almost creamy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very pleasant, easily drinkable Impy Stout, almost too soft actually.

The smell of chocolate and malt with some coffee in the background. The small beige fizzy head disappears fast, the body is black. A strong malty taste, some coffee and chocolate. The body is medium strong, creamy and light oily with a soft carbonation.

Bouteille.

12/20 roasted chocolate, light body, not rich, weird mix between a hoppy taste and chocolate. It's ok ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (330 ml) at home. Pitch black with a medium brown head, good retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is rich but also quite sugary with milk chocolate aplenty, cocoa powder, dark fruits and molasses. Taste is sweet and sugary with loads of milk chocolate and cocoa powder, molasses, dark fruits and vanilla. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky mouthfeel, almost a lactose feeling. Sugary chocolatey finish. It’s not an heavy beer per se but it’s intensely chocolatey which makes is hard to drink and cloying for me. It’s rich considering the abv and it’s a quality beer I’m sure but it’s not something I enjoy at all.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks Max. Black. Sweet aroma with some coconut, demarera sugar and some wood, sweet and rich, velvety taste and texture with a little iodine. Smooth, full body, long finish with some sherry.
