Cask
A hoppy golden pale ale with a resin, lemon, hop character.

Orkney comprises of 70 islands, 17 or 18 of which are inhabited. Each unique in its own way, locals and tourists travel internally by both sea and air. We use all pale malt and lots of New Zealand hops to create this hoppy but still sessionable low strength beer.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt (Maris Otter), wheat malt, Nelson Sauvin hops, yeast.

Ilkley beer fest 2017, a 3.9% session bitter, i was expecting it to be hoppier as the notes said "..lots of NZ hops..", but unassuming if its meant to be an IPA.

Bottle from Aldi. Pours clear light copper with a thin white head. Nose has gentle orange citrus, little melted butter and mild toffee. Palate is light and refreshing with a light to moderate carbonation. Flavours initially bitter with earthy hop but washes away with a caramel maltiness. It’s a light citrus fresh ale with an earthy hop that threatens to over-balance but just holds on.

500 ml bottle. BB 12/2017. (K-Market) Tampere, Finland. Clear golden color with a small white head. Sweet fruity and floral hops, moderate bitterness, sugary sweetness and some caramel malt in the aroma. The flavor is piney and fruity hops, strong bitterness, sugary sweetness and some caramel malt. A bit unbalanced. Too sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aldi (Scottish beer festival) 500ml bottle. Clean looking beer but not so much of a clean, crisp taste. Quite a strong peat taste and smokey smell. I could not drink alot of this and think one or two bottles enough due to lasting after taste (soapy after taste). Would like to try from a tap though

500ml bottle (K Citymarket Ruoholahti, Halsinki)
Gold, frothy head. Nice honeyish malts, some fleshy fruitiness, a bit apricoty and resiny. Light palate, gentle carbonation, refreshing. Gently sweet malty body, really gentle resiny bitterness. Nice simple golden ale, definitely has that Scotish touch, like a couple of Williams goldens, that I do like. Clean but characterful. Nice one - good for the sauna.

500ml bottle from Aldi. Golden with a fluffy white head. Grassy, bready aroma. Taste is similar with citrus and a little soap

Bottle from Aldi. (Scottish Beer Festival) Apart from a wee bit of cleaning fluid in the background, this is pleasant in an understated way. I'd be keen to try this out the tap. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
