Poured yellow with fluffy white head. Nice hop aroma and a nicely hopped flavor. I enjoyed this one. Very good. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 5, 2005
In the bottle. Pours a deep golden color bordering on the orange side, but not quite there. White fluffy head hangs in there with good money. Lacing rings around the shaker. Effervescent carbonation cascades to the top. Distinct rich hop aroma. Buttery mouth feel with a decent up front hop bitterness followed by a mellow sweetness. No risidual hop pain. All the bitterness is up front. A fine IPA that should have mass appeal. Perm (151) - Tryon, North Carolina, USA - APR 4, 2008

Appearance: apple juice. Not as clear and golden as some, but still lovely. Thin head.
Nose: On the weakish side. Apples again. Faint citrus; fresh, floral hops, light malt. Inviting, if somewhat faint.
Taste: This is where it is beginning to shine! Nice, nice. Earthy, complex hop concoction. Black pepper, turmeric, lots of citrus. Lovely and drinkable.
Palate: Harmonious, lingering. Goes down the throat and begs for another sip to follow.
Overall: Not my favorite IPA, but the taste is quite fetching and keeps me coming back for more. Highland exhibits a high level of quality across the board.
Pours a cloudy yellow orange with nice white sudsy head. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Taste is surprisingly sweet with floral hop dominence in the finish. I could drink a lot of this very nice. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - NOV 9, 2012
From Beerlicious iphone app: Typical citrus aroma. Golden cloudy color with frothy white head. Sourness to start but finishes with some bitterness which is surprising. Slick body with alcoholic finish.

From bottle. Pours hazy golden in color. Aroma was mostly fruity hop with a small amount of pine. Taste was full of malt with a nice bitter finish. Well balanced. foyle (429) - Wyoming, USA - JUL 21, 2013
Appearance: clear, golden appearance
Aroma: mild floral hops
Mouthfeel: medium, slightly sticky
Flavor: somewhat citrusy hop bitterness initially and a dry bitterness at the end with a sweet caramel malt flavor in between
Overall: Nicely balanced and not over the top. Very enjoyable. nearbeer (5608) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 18, 2007
UPDATED: APR 28, 2008 12 oz. Clear, orange-copper with a small but persistent head. Aroma is citrus and pekoe tea leaf, mixed with cereal and honey. Flavor is initially dry grain, turning sweetish and then citrus, peppery hops. Wow, this is really a complex flavor that doesn’t just knock you over with a single note of hop flavor- goes back and forth nicely from maltiness to hops and on to different hop flavors. Pleasant surprise. Palate is smooth and light-medium bodied.
