Bottle at Kookfest 2006. Very dark brown, lasting beige head. Hoppy aroma, too hoppy for a porter. Good charcoal in mouth, some sourness. Pretty good finish now tooo. Dryness on end. It gets better as it goes on. Oakes (19569) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 23, 2002
Very dark burgundy; thin but creamy-looking head; fruity aroma (cherry, raisin) w/ touch of roast. The oatmeal is immediately evident in the creamy body, though a soft carbonation also contributes. Oaty, fruity (cherry), lightly roasty flavour. Fairly sweet, a little bit fatty in the finish (typical oatmeal characteristic). Very drinkable - a cross between an old-school porter and an oatmeal stout.
