COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.

Appearance: pale and golden in colour.
Nose: rich fruity malt hints of yeast, with earthy, woody, hop with honey and alcohol notes.
Palate: generously malty with balanced spicy hop in the middle leading, to a lingering hop finish, with honeyed fruity malt and a hint of warming alcohol.
Summary: a stunning stronger ale in the true british fashion, with balanced flavours from maris otter malt and English hops added early and late in the copper. One to take great care with as it is so drinkable.

500ml brown bottle, cork and cask, Edinburgh. Scent is mixed cereal and pale malt. Pours medium pale with a thin white head subsiding slowly. Light bitter notes and medium sweetness on the tongue. Finish is raspy and dry; really pleasant. A well-rounded beer.

500ml bottle from Aldi. Nice orange marmalade colour with thin white head and lacing which lasts. Fresh, fruity aroma, probably more apricot than orange. Sweet fruity, honey, sweet marmalade taste. No great bitterness to finish but enough to strike a great balance. A great find.

Bottle from Aldi. This has lots of grapefruit going on. Then it morphs into marmalade/orange peel. Very bitter at finish. They should rename it "Soor Plooms"! (see Scots Dictionary) Not bad though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at St Albans beer festival 2014, St Albans, Herts. A light amber coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and some butterscotch. Very tasty indeed.

On cask at cloisters: Ruddy-orange pour, white head. British hop aroma, flavor of spicy british hops with a bready caramel backbone. Thin. On cask (I believe) at the hanging bat: Translucent orange, foamy white head. Aroma is of apricot, fruit, yeast; light and sweet. Flavor is of apricot, yeast, fruit and wheat. Tasted like two very different beers. What gives?

Cask @ Leggers Beer Festival, Dewsbury. Golden with a creamy head. Has a sweet hop-malt character.
