Cask; Seasonal - Winter. Also available bottled.
Appearance: Dark mahogany in colour with ruby highlights.
Nose: A lovely roasted grain aroma and some dark berry fruit.
Palate: After a slight tartness (always a good sign in a porter), coffee and chocolate dominate the palate, with a hint of smoke lending complexity. Nutty bitter chocolate pervades the persistent finish.

Bottle (330 ml) at home. Dark brown with a small beige head not leaving much lacing. Aroma is decadent with molasses, chocolate, red berries, vanilla and roasted malts. Taste is sweet but not overly so with chocolate, molasses, vanilla, roasted malts, red berries, hints of smoke and a touch of alcohol. Medium to full body. Moderate-medium carbonation. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Molasses, vanilla and red berries finish with a touch of warming alcohol. Very good balanced, flavorful and decadent Imperial Porter. Lovely.

Pours a moderately dark brown with a beige rim that leaves some lacing. Nose is of chocolate/cocoa nibs and very lightly smoky. Just really pleasing. Taste is moderately sweet and quite chocolate forward. Rich and desserty. Very slight chest warming. Chocolate cake, not quite fudgy. Body is pretty much full and carbonation moderately low. Sticky and pretty rich. Much enjoyed! Pretty much what I’d expect from a dessert kind of beer. Never cloying and just really nice and rich!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Max. Very dark brown with a tan film. Sweet and nutty aroma with a hint of coconut and faint vanilla. Slightly bitter taste, then vanilla, a little roasty and sweetness follows. Full body, rather fizzy, cocoa and roasty finish.

Rozlane na bieda bottle sharingu. Pachnie czekoladą, delikatną kawą, wanilią, słodko. W smaku na początku wytrawnie, potem słodko kontruje wanilia. Ciała mogło być więcej. Całkiem fajne piwo w dobrej cenie

Pours dark brown, almost black with beige head. Aroma of sweet roast, alcohol and burnt treacle. Taste is dry coffee, spicy hops, burnt caramel and yeast esters. Medium carbonation, let down abit by a thin body.

Bottle from Fountainhall Wines. Pours dark, dark ruby brown with a foamy light-tan head. Aromas of blackcurrants, melted butter, sweet coffee and a little fruit loaf. Flavours develop from smooth, dusty roasted malt flowing to sweet caramel building to a bitter coffee finish with a little spirity booze. It has a soft, glossy mouthfeel with an at-odds lively sparkle. I could imagine the carbonation may be a little lively for some but I thought this porter was fantastic. Beautifully glossy with gentle, flowing aromas and flavours.
