COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottle.
We brew our beer next to cliffs battered by the Atlantic Ocean - the sea is a constant in Orkneys way of life. This beer is a respectful Orcadian nod to the pale ales of Americas West Coast. Crystal malt gives the beer sweet body and US hops provide plenty of punchy, citrus flavours.

Ingredients: water, barley malt (Maris Otter, Crystal), wheat malt, hops (Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe).

50 cl bottle, BBE 02/2018. Clear yellow beer, tall white head that gets smaller by the second. Soapy, buttery aroma with malt, cookie, grass and metal. Where did they manage to bury the Citra and Nelson Sauvin? Taste is malt, grass, metal. Pretty rubbish.

[email protected] Beer Session (from K Citymarket Rovaniemi). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is floral, wooden, earthy and some slight sulphury and quite "hard watery" (kind of Marstonlike hard water). Flavour is hard water, grass, herbs and some slight bitter floral notes. Quite long lingering bitterness in the finish.

500 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Looks: Clear straw golden honey Two finger head with crumpety white foam which last for 3 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant full Ale malt, with strong cat piss, strong passion fruits, candied fruits, orange, floral, sugar, earth, light spice, light bread, strong lemon rind and grass.

Taste: Zero sweet fair Ale malt, with metallic, grains, fair grapefruits, floral, hint of molasses, spices, dry biscuits, strong lemon, mind to strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Close to medium body. Slick and smooth palate.

Mouth Feel: Good Ale maltymess in a solid and creamy background. Very grainy with virtually no sweetness. Clean, dry with bitter floral and spices. Biscuity with strong lemon to round. Very nice!

Hoppiness: Strong cat piss, strong passion fruits, candied fruits, orange, floral, earth, spice, strong citrus and grass in nose. Grapefruits, floral, spices, strong lemon and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, high astringent citrus malty finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Spicy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one has strong Simcoe aroma, and a clean dry non-sweet Ale maltyness with fair citrus spicy hops. Clean and straight forward, very enjoyable session-wise. Recommended!
