Cask; Regular. Also available bottled at 4.4%.

Appearance: golden & sparkling in the glass.
Nose: hints of fruit esters and malt, with light hop notes. Also, if fresh, will have a nutty bread dough yeasty note, that disappears when well vented.
Palate: soft nutty maltiness with accessible hoppiness. The middle is balanced, leading to a long malt hop finish, which the hops eventually win. Their fresh green notes coming through with hints of fruit esters. It becomes drier and cleaner drinking with longer venting.
Summary: a satisfying world class pale ale, made with maris otter pale ale malt & a blend of four hops from America, Germany, New Zealand & Slovakia. Each one selected for their spiciness and aroma and all giving that certain something to back up the wholesome maltiness provided by the maris otter.

Bottle, Christmas gift from Tom. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of herbs, grain and freshly cut grass. Flavour of earthy, herbal, spicy hops - Slovakian hops are definitely evident in this. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. As easy drinking as water, but, ironically, its all a bit watery and the flavour feels diluted.

Scopey (13316) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2013
Cask at Moorings, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden amber with a small white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, citrus, dough, brioche and fruit loaf. The taste is crisp, citric, doughy, nut, straw, dried fruits and some underlying sweetnes with a set finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A rather nice golden bitter. Well-rounded and quaffable.
