Thanks turdferguson for sharing this. Pours a carbonated copper brown with a 1 finger frothy tan head. Smells a bit sweet, very grainy, earthy. Tastes grainy, earthy, a light waxyness and bitterness. Waxy mouthfeel, finishes a bit waxy. aubreya (676) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - MAY 1, 2008
The color was brownish/yellow. The head was creamy, thin, and off-white. The aroma was somewhat hoppy and light spice. The flavor was burnt, corn, and light hops. The palate was lightly carbonated. The finish was slightly hoppy. Suttree (6415) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 28, 2008
Orangey copper, decent sized white head. Faint aroma, maybe some grainy, toasty notes. Flavor is rye bread and a touch of a nutty flavor. Tasty and quaffable. At the Raleigh WBF. wilkie (1208) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 27, 2008
Draught at the WBF in Raleigh. Copper, with white head, good lacing. Sweet aroma, with caramel. Flavor is grainy, poorly balanced. Dissapointing finish. Unusual from Highland, most of their beers are excellent.
