imdownthepub (14547) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2017
Cask conditioned at The North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival ’17, Sheringham, Norfolk. Very dark brown with cream head. This proved to be dark roasted with a keen bitterness, quite drying. There is a toasty character, a hint of coffee powder. Pretty reasonable.

Half @ GRAF. Dark brown with a very thin off white head. Sweet, spicy aroma, flavour is roasted malt, a little coffee. Bit thin but good

Svesse (8595) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2017
(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 19 April 2017) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, tobacco, liquorice, coffee and cacao. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, hints of tobacco and a generous roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made stout. Very nice.

On tap at Chippenham Beer Festival. Clear black with no head. Minimal aroma. Light and minerally, and bitter without being too hoppy.

(cask) deepest brown-black in colour with almost no head. aroma of dark fruit and some acetone, with lots of raisins, yeast and sugar icing. flavour is mostly the same, more dark fruit and raisins, slightly tart, with some notes of yeast and olive brine. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the 22nd Watford beer festival, Watford, Herts. A dark amber/brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit. Nice stout from Swannay.

Cask gravity at the 2016 Watford beer festival 4/11/2016. A dark ruby red mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose dirty tan head. Aroma is lemon, smooth woody roast, liquorice, black malts. Flavour is composed of black liquorice, black jack sweets, ginger, hint of wood, little treacle. There is a flavour I can’t quite put my finger on. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, milky, decent cask condition. I like it.

Gravity [email protected] Beer Festival, London
Dark almost opaque brown color, small off-white head. Sweetish licorice aroma. Light to medium-bodied, but then a bit watery. Front has sweet licorice. Then hops and aftertaste has some medicinal notes. A bit weird.

Rune (12738) - Tromsø, NORWAY - APR 26, 2016
Cask, glass on a sampler tray at Helgi’s Bar. A few patches on the surface, rings of lace down the glass. Near-black body. Slightly roasted aroma of earthy malts and chocolate. Mid-sweet chocolate flavours, hints of earth and ash. Roasted, bittersweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Really a well made stout considering the low abv. (Kirkwall 15.04.2016).

ManVsBeer (10448) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2016
Halifax & Calder Beer Festival 2015. Very dark. Rich in taste, there’s some roasted malts available too in both aroma and taste.
