Cask. Dark ruby/brown. Very roasty, lots of toffee, butterscotch. A little too roasty for me. Not overly complex.

On tap at Chippenham Beer Festival. Clear black with no head. Minimal aroma. Light and minerally, and bitter without being too hoppy.

(cask) deepest brown-black in colour with almost no head. aroma of dark fruit and some acetone, with lots of raisins, yeast and sugar icing. flavour is mostly the same, more dark fruit and raisins, slightly tart, with some notes of yeast and olive brine. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the 22nd Watford beer festival, Watford, Herts. A dark amber/brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit. Nice stout from Swannay.

Cask gravity at the 2016 Watford beer festival 4/11/2016. A dark ruby red mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose dirty tan head. Aroma is lemon, smooth woody roast, liquorice, black malts. Flavour is composed of black liquorice, black jack sweets, ginger, hint of wood, little treacle. There is a flavour I cant quite put my finger on. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, milky, decent cask condition. I like it.

Dark almost opaque brown color, small off-white head. Sweetish licorice aroma. Light to medium-bodied, but then a bit watery. Front has sweet licorice. Then hops and aftertaste has some medicinal notes. A bit weird.

Cask, glass on a sampler tray at Helgis Bar. A few patches on the surface, rings of lace down the glass. Near-black body. Slightly roasted aroma of earthy malts and chocolate. Mid-sweet chocolate flavours, hints of earth and ash. Roasted, bittersweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Really a well made stout considering the low abv. (Kirkwall 15.04.2016).

Cask. Light chocolate and coffee with a prominent dark berry flavour. A bit on the thin side for a stout.

Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Leighton. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, some roast bitterness and a little dark malt cream. Touch of dark fruits. Smooth finish. Okay but ultimately just another stout.

Cask, The Kings Head, Leicester. Black with a beige head. Earthy, peat coffee with blackberries and pepper. Roasted with dark chocolate and residual brown sugar sweetness. Dry on the finish. Decent.
