COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust porter has a full body with some hints of chocolate from the chocolate malt and midnight wheat. The mild noble hop aroma showcases the roasty flavors and subtle fruit and spice notes of the artisan-roasted Fair Trade/Organic coffee of Black Mountain, NCs Dynamite Roasting Co.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2013 This is one of the best seasonal offerings from Highland in some time. It?s got a pleasant, fresh coffe aroma that?s not overbearing. The coffe flavor is present & very nice, but it doesn?t dwarf the porter itself. I enjoy the fact of the organic products/brands that have gone into this--it let?s me know this brew has been loved and isn?t cheap. There?s some nice lacing down my glass, too. I?m currently drinking the draft version, but Ikve had bottles, as well (both are delicious). Taking into account Highland?s Oatmeal Porter, I can deduce that these guys have porters figured out in a major way!

Aroma is like fresh coffee. Taste is more coffee with a light toasty malt underbelly. Some carbonation, but overall its a light bodied brew with lots of coffee, lots.

Delicious coffee porter with deep, roasty veins of chocolate and java. Mild herbal bitterness on the finish. Damn tasty.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is pretty good. Roasted malts and chocolate with a lot of coffee. Flavor is also mostly coffee with some roasted malts and chocolate. Pretty impressed with this brew.

Tastes like a breakfast stout. Strong coffee flavor as expected. Very hearty. Robust. Creamy. Surprisingly hoppy aftertaste.

6 Jan 2015, bottle. Black. Nose is really big, bitter, dark espresso. Med body and moderately fizzy. Tastes like dark chocolate with hints of chili pepper. Faintly acidic. Nice enough.

Pours dark brown but transparent with a decent light brown head.nose is strong coffee with a touch of cream and sweetness.flavor is a bit more tempered but still dominated my coffee tones with a dry finish at the end of a fairly sweet but thin malt. decent but not particularly stand out.

Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling, VA. Dark brown with a decent, beige, head. Rich coffee bean aroma and taste, avoiding any jarring bitterness. Also had some plain chocolate and a trace of leafy hop, before a dryish finish.
