COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This robust porter has a full body with some hints of chocolate from the chocolate malt and midnight wheat. The mild noble hop aroma showcases the roasty flavors and subtle fruit and spice notes of the artisan-roasted Fair Trade/Organic coffee of Black Mountain, NCs Dynamite Roasting Co.

Crazy Expresso taste. Coffee beans and water. Black pour with white head. Sampler draft at bier garden in Asheville. Almost too much coffee going here but still enjoyable.

12 oz bottle, served in a pint glass. Pours dark inky brownish black with medium thin lacy mocha head. Aroma is big fresh coffee and dark roasty chocolate malts. Taste is rich, very dark chocolate malt... nice charred notes without tasting burnt. Coffee flavors are there, but less so than the aroma and are dominated by the heavy roasty flavory. Tough to pick between this and the Oatmeal Porter... the coffee flavor here is a wonderful match for the dark chocolate malt notes, though it lacks the overall smoothness the Oatmeal Porter has. Maybe a hair shy of the Oatmeal, but this is very nice.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of coffee, bakers cocoa, roasted malt and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, earthiness and light cocoa with a smooth dry lingering coffee finish.

Aroma is like fresh coffee. Taste is more coffee with a light toasty malt underbelly. Some carbonation, but overall its a light bodied brew with lots of coffee, lots.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is really heavy on the coffee, which is a plus for me. Dark roast coffee, a slight citrus note, chocolate malt, a little roast. The flavor is all coffee up front, very rich and bold without being acrid at all. Some light chocolate malt, and maybe a touch of the dark wheat in the middle. Lingering coffee and cocoa. Medium bodied with a slight cling and soft fizzy carbonation. Nice beer, especially for this coffee lover.

Man, I love beers with coffee in em. Absolutely love em. This one by Highland doesnt really bring any innovation to the genre, but its still delicious and well made. I could drink a lot of this. Sampled at Knoxville brewers jam. 2011.

Pours dark black with chestnut brown edges and one finger of tan head. Nose is very nice, molasses and sweet java notes. Lots of chocolate and a light roast. Coffee flavor is a tad weak. Spent grounds and bitter bakers chocolate. Noticeable acidity from the coffee and dark grain. Medium body with a slightly thin feel and almost absent carbonation.
