best dark beer ive ever had, great aroma and taste, I would recommend everybody give this a try, not as heavy as most porters pats (1) - - MAY 19, 2015 does not count
pours well with a nice tan head, great smoky flavours with hints of espresso and chocolate, very smooth for a 6.5 percent gilvanblight (825) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 18, 2013
Near black pour. Very little head. Almost no scent. Very thick. Caramel, molasses and a good bitterness offsetting that sweetness. A bit boozy. Best one I’ve had at the Windsor Craft Beer Festival. sandricdoliba (1) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 23, 2015 does not count
Subtle smokiness blends well with chocolate and vanilla. Medium to light body that definitely covers up the 6.5%. A surprisingly easy drinking beer. GlennHendry (459) - OSHAWA, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 27, 2015
Looks great. Chocolate and roasted malts on the nose and more of the same on the tongue. Really smooth. Just became my #1 Porter.

Recent bottle from LCBO, 500 ml shared with Doug K. Very good smoked. The aroma, the taste, well balanced and creamy mouthfeel. biokid23 (102) - California, USA - MAR 21, 2014
A good, smoky porter. Dark chocolate, coffee, and wine. A good introductory porter and a good beer in general. Bahumat (159) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 10, 2014
Aroma: 7/10. Very nice sweet malty aroma, hints of toasted marshmallow, vanilla. No hint of smoke really yet.
Appearance: 4/5. Pours a dark cola black with a very thin white head that fades pretty fast, mild to moderate lacing.
Taste: 8/10. Like a roasted and slightly burned marshmallow. Vanilla, alcohol, just enough smoke to back up that pleasant toasted flavor. It’s not intensely sweet, but the finish is very nice.
Palate: 3/5. Watery and thin. I *really* wanted this beer to just be more beer and a little less water. I think that alone would bump the score on Taste up another point. However, it’s definitely a very sessionable beer, so it holds up well to the porter style.
Overall: 16/20. I praise this one through faint damnations. The toasted-lightly-burnt marshmallow flavor that the smoking of the malts gives this beer is just fabulous, and overall I drink this beer and think of campfires and nights under the stars, and deliberately burning my marshmallows as a kid. The point scoring is fair, but there’s a special place for this one in my heart. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle from LCBO. Dark brown with ruby highlights. The nose is pretty nice - cocoa and chocolate with a touch of light smoke and some faint plummy fruitiness. A moderate bitterness on the finish but it has a lovely richness without being overly sweet. A little bit of soft roastiness with a touch of cola-like spiciness. The smoke intensifies a bit as it warms - but it comes across as a savoury sort of character rather than as an overtly smoky note. Pretty nice stuff though. bunget (987) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 31, 2014
650ml bottle. Dark brown body with reddish tones, small dense latte head with excellent retention. Aroma of caramel malt, dates, light smokiness, blackberries jam, hazelnuts, a touch of coffee. Taste well done toast, caramel, a touch of smoke, licorice, a little coffee. Very well done.
